For the fourth consecutive year, HBO’s “Game of Thrones” topped the list of most-pirated TV shows, followed by AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” according to numbers compiled by Torrentfreak, which posts original stories about file sharing, privacy and piracy.
According to the story:
Overall there is no sign that TV-show piracy is declining, on the contrary. The download numbers for the most popular shows continues to rise, sometimes exceeding the number of traditional viewers in the US.
Based on the shows in the top 10, men are more likely to steal shows off the Web than women.
The top three shows – “Game of Thrones,” ‘The Walking Dead” and “Big Bang Theory” – are already enormously popular.
Most of the others in the top 10 fall in the sci-fi/historical arena: the CW’s “Arrow” and “The Flash,” USA’s “Mr. Robot” (which has a fantastical element to it although it is grounded in reality), History’s “Vikings,” CBS’s “Supergirl” and NBC’s “The Blacklist.” Surprisingly, USA’s “Suits” snuck in at No. 10.
