Last season, Marietta’s Zach Seabaugh made it to the semifinals on the ninth season of NBC’s ‘The Voice.” He was one of several metro Atlantans who made the first cut.
Already, Atlanta is off to a good start for season 10 courtesy of Nick Hagelin, the third singer featured on “The Voice” season debut tonight.
The soulful singer attacked an Adam Levine song “Lose Stars,” which is pretty gutsy. He hit the falsetto notes with confidence.
Three of the celebrity coaches turned their chairs, but surprise! Levine was the lone holdout. He said he couldn’t get his own version out of his own head.
Christina Aguilera pressed her button immediately while Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams waited until the last moment. “Your voice would record so incredibly,” said Shelton, who compared his high notes to those of Prince. Ultimately, Hagelin picked Pharrell because he’s the “Quincy Jones of our generation.”
Hagelin has had a record deal before. He was also a professional ballet. He has a cute son who had trouble walking due to weak muscles and stiff joints.
Here’s his announcement of being on “The Voice.”
Here are some of his performances on YouTube:
