Former Conyers resident Jayna Brown impressed guest judge Louis Tomlinson from One Direction so much, he moved her straight to the live shows on this week’s “America’s Got Talent.” She will take part in the top 36.

She received a standing ovation from the judges, singing with a level of maturity and grace far beyond her 14 years.

“It’s not just one thing with you. It’s not just the voice. It’s not just the performance. It’s everything,” Tomlinson said after she sang Audra Day’s “Rise Up.” “It’s so infectious to watch your performance.”

Then he pressed the Golden Buzzer and confetti flew down on a stunned Brown, who lived for 18 months in Conyers when she was 12 and 13 but now splits time between Maryland and Virginia.

My interview with her after the first round.
