Kim Passoth, who came to CBS46 last year from Oklahoma city as a noon weekday anchor, has been shifted to weekends at 11 p.m.
She is now working with Mike Dunston, who welcomed her on air to her new role this weekend.
General Manager Mark Pimental said in an email that the expanded weekend news programming at 11 p.m. was a reason to bring Passoth aboard. “The other is giving our morning team additional exposure,” he wrote. “A majority of morning anchor teams also anchor the noon and Frank Volpicella our new news director made these moves.”
The morning team featuring Gloria Neal, Bobby Kaple and Jennifer Valdez will now handle the weekday noon telecast.
Passoth replaced Jocelyn Connell in May 2015 as part of a vast shift in anchors at the CBS affiliate(WGCL-TV).
Based on a look at ratings from the first seven months of this year vs. the same period in 2015, CBS46 has not seen a significant improvement in viewers, remaining in third or fourth place in most time slots most days.
The CBS46 noon telecast anchored by Passoth did see an improvement of a 1.4 rating vs. 1.2 from the same time period a year earlier. It was in third place during that time period behind Channel 2 Action News (5.0) and Fox5 (2.3).
