Talk about an easy call. FX just two of its critically applauded series “Better Things” and “Atlanta” second seasons almost immediately.

“Atlanta,” created by Stone Mountain native Donald Glover and shot locally, has aired just three episodes and is already a solid hit for the network. And critics practically fell over each other with praise for the series even before it aired, with a 90 out of 100 on Metacritic. (Viewers agreed, matching with an average 9 out of 10.)

If you haven’t yet seen it, Glover plays Earnest Marks, a struggling Princeton dropout who is a bit lost but is hoping to find some success by managing his cousin Paper Boi with his rap career. Stylistically, the comedy is one of a kind and provides a side of Atlanta not really seen on other shows such as “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

FX, which won 18 Emmys this year, is on a roll with “American Horror Story,” “People vs. O.J. Simpson” and “The Americans.”
