Michael Baisden, the syndicated host, will resurface on Mix 87.7 after Kiss 104.1 dropped him last month.
He’ll start in mid January and air from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“He gets great ratings in this market, has a stellar name, is a king of social media,” said 87.7 radio owner Steve Hegwood. He hopes to bring the popular host into town as much as possible.
R&B station Mix used to be Old School 87.7 but decided to skew younger last month, moving Porsha Foxx to mornings from afternoons and dropping Russ Parr.
Baisden – who blends social and political activism with relationship advice – was only on Kiss for about a year. He had previously been on Majic from 2005 to 2013.
In 2013, he and his syndicator (Atlanta-based Cumulus Media) had a conflict over a new contract and he was gone, no explanation given by either side. He later sued Cumulus for breach of contract but the two sides ultimately settled.
