Michael B Jordan’s sci-fi series “Raising Dion” is being shot in metro Atlanta.

Netflix committed ten episodes for the first season.

It’s based on a short film about an African-American single mother who finds out her young son has multiple, constantly changing superpower abilities. Created by Dennis Liu, “Raising Dion” became a viral sensation. Carol Barbee (“Unreal”) will be the showrunner.

Jordan (“Creed,” “Black Panther”) will play a supporting role. According to the press release:

Raising Dion, a Netflix production, follows the story of a woman named Nicole Reese, who raises her son Dion after the death of her husband Mark (Jordan). The normal dramas of raising a son as a single mom are amplified when Dion starts to manifest several magical, superhero-like abilities. Nicole must now keep her son’s gifts secret with the help of Mark’s best friend Pat, and protect Dion from antagonists out to exploit him while figuring out the origin of his abilities.

Netflix has committed to multiple projects in Atlanta. Of course, there’s super popular “Stranger Things” (shooting season three) and Jason Bateman’s “Ozark” (shooting season two).  Plus, the streaming service has aired reality show “Queer Eye” and is still shooting an upcoming horror series “The Haunting of Hill House.”
